Thanks, Martin, for your note.  Concerning ravens and sexes, long ago  
Cyril Coldwell could not separate males from females by any physical  
feature, including size; but Cyril's banding records showed lots of  
incidences of clearly paired ravens he had banded being trapped  
together over long periods of time.  The interpretation of this was  
of mated pairs staying together perhaps "for life".  Nowadays of  
course a drop of blood and DNA makes sexing easy.  Cheers from Jim
