Hi Peter,
My limited experience would suggest that either of those dates will be a =
bit early for orchids.....my photos of orchids on Brier Island were =
taken July 31 and they were very plentiful. I also have images at Port =
Joli. again in July...the earliest July 11 is a white-fringed orchid. =
Also Rolands 'Flora of Nova Scotia' indicates July-August for most =
species.

Subject: [NatureNS] Good week for orchids on Brier?

  Hi, all-

A friend from Japan will be visiting us in June, and we wanted to take =
her to Brier Island. One of the things she is interested in is seeing =
wild flowers, especially wild orchids, and we know that Brier is a great =
place for this.=20

We have to pick out an approximate date for her visit. The choices are =
roughly the week of June 7-14, or the week of June 20-27. Any advice as =
to which would be better for seeing orchids and other wild flowers would =
be greatly appreciated.

  Thanks

  Peter Payzant
