Hi All;

The following web sites might be of interest to you. First, a
discussion of the recent snipe rarities in Newfoundland, with
photos. So far at least three Common Snipe have been sighted, and
also a Jacksnipe. Here is the web site:

David Sibley, author of the Sibley Guide to North American Birds,
posts regular updates and ID discoveries on his blog. Here are
several recent entries that should be useful to birders in Nova Scotia.

1) - Identifying scoters by shape

http://tinyurl.com/63aso3q

2) - Identification of Greenland White-fronted Geese

http://tinyurl.com/69v38sf

3) - New field mark to separate Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers

http://tinyurl.com/6gzqp63

4) - Is the Brown Creeper more than one species?

http://tinyurl.com/6bhfkeh

Happy surfing.

Blake
