Hi Tuma:

Sorry for the tardy response.

Glad you worked out the i.d. of the Ipswich Sparrows - the two show  
the range of tones that you get - the brighter one might be a male.

Your gulls are both Iceland Gulls, and both late first-winter birds.  
The nearer mottled one is probably young "Kumlien's" Iceland Gull from  
Nunavut, with a bit of gray on the primaries. They're very variable,  
and maybe even the one in back with pure white primaries could be a  
"Kumlien's," but it might also be a "pure" Iceland from Greenland.  
(TOO MANY NAMES!).
