Yes, I heard the news story too, and was appalled. The decision to cancel Bob Bancroft's induction was narrow-minded and short-sighted, and needs to be protested.

I am not sure if this e-mail is appropriate for this forum or not.

I was a bit amazed at the news on CBC this morning re. the apparent cancellation of Bob Bancroft's induction into the Nova Scotia Forestry Hall of Fame this evening. It appears that some of those involved in making the decision object to recent opinions Bob has expressed against clearcutting and forest biomass harvesting.

We are all entitled to our opinions and should be big enough to agree to disagree, yet still respect one another and appreciate the contributions we all make. Considering Bob's many contributions to forestry and wildlife issues and public awareness thereof, this decision strikes me as small-minded and regrettable.
