This morning I found an immature Snow Goose in a flock of about 250 Canadas in Lower
Onslow, Col. Co. - specifically in the fields S of Hwy 2/4 just about opposite the beginning of
Crowes Mills Road (and opposite the R & J Cormier Mechanical shop). It was a big bird, so
likely at the Greater Snow Goose end of the spectrum. Conditions were difficult at the time -
driving rain and a strong wind - so my view wasn't the best.

I located about 1100 Canadas in the Onslow-Masstown areas today, about 25% of which
were smallish, dark-breasted birds, presumably B.c. interior. These flocks have arrived
recently and the interior are good evidence that they are real long-distance migrants.
