Hi All
Today we went to a favorite river. Tide was just turning and there was some elvers around the shore. Not great numbers yet but little groups of them. First I had seen this year. It seems early but maybe not.
Amazing little things - all the way across the ocean and only as big as a garden worm. Some were trying to get up a ditch with a little flow - and were making it.
There was also dead squid on the shore - not sure if some angler was using them for bait or if they chased the elvers up stream and got caught in the fresh water.
We saw some trout but none on the end of our lines! Could be they were enjoy fresh elver snacks.
Have a nice spring
Paul
