This evening Jeff and I took a drive to Amherst Point via Smith Road, and
report having seen the following birds:

On Smith Road, at the little pond by the farm on the corner of Smith Rd and
Hwy 2:

4 Green-winged Teals
1 American Wigeon

On Smith Road, where it backs onto Amherst Point Bird Sanctuary:

2 American Kestrels
Canada Geese in field (10+)
3 Ring-necked Pheasants

On Southampton Rd, in front of the marsh:

2 Red-winged Blackbirds
Many Ring-necked Ducks
7 Mallards
Canada Geese
(Lots of ducks in the back of the marsh but I don't have a scope and
couldn't identify them)
2 Bald Eagles (one in nest, one on pole)

The ice and snow is now gone, so we hope to get in there for a walk soon.

Cheers,
Cindy
