Elm trees in Halifax are now in bloom, and have been since at least
Sunday, when I first noticed them. This evening after work I
deviated from my usual route in order to pass by a certain Daphne
bush which I like to visit. It was in full bloom.

I have the strong impression that there are a lot more Robins
around today than there were on the weekend or perhaps even
yesterday. Up until now I have only been seeing one or two in the
course of my mile-long walk, so I think there has been a fresh influx
of new arrivals.
