We did go to this stranding. It was a small minke, about 15 feet long.  We 
refloated it with the pontoons and took it out a ways. Unfortunately, it 
made its way back to the same spot later last night and stranded again. 
That's when the fire department and DFO lifted it out of the water, 
transported it and released it on the other side.

At that size most likely a calf from last year.  The hair follicles on the 
upper jaw are visible - the little pits.  Here's hoping it survived.
