May 5, 2011 - 9:00 a.m.
An osprey seen flying downstream over Round Hill Brook. A couple of minutes later, it flew back upstream carrying a small clutch of sticks. A neighbour tells me that osprey sometimes nest along a hydro corridor behind Round Hill Cemetery (direction the osprey was headed).

May 8, 2011 - 7:00 p.m.
A male RT hummingbird sighted in the garden, investigating the red lettering on the cargo box atop my van. It then flew around the garden a bit, then returned to inspect the red letters. It was observed repeating this behaviour two more times within a few minutes. It seems this is the appropriate time to put up a feeder.
