I spent a couple of afternoons on wood roads off the Aylesford Lake/North
River road.
May 31
Road off Magee Lake leading to Power Line;
Birds - lots of Black-throated Blue Warblers, a few Olive-sided &
Alder Flycatchers, Swainson Thrush, + Yellowthroats, etc. Heard what I
believe was a House Wren but it only sang once.... could not entice it
out.
Leps - Tiger Swallowtail, Clouded Sulphur, Spring Azure (only photo of
latter)

June 1
Same road as above;
- no sign of possible House Wren
Odonates
- 10+ Beaverpond Baskettail. Because of its behaviour & habitat, I
assumed it was a Spiny Baskettail but netted a couple & identified by
lack of T on forehead. (Both Spiny & Common have the T mark but those
differ in behaviour & habitat).
- 1 Hudsonian Whiteface

Another Wood road heading N from Aylesford Lake Road
Leps - 20+ Dreamy Duskywing
<x-tab>        </x-tab>- 1
Fritillary flew by & disappeared ...likely Atlantis Fritillary but
quite early
<x-tab>        </x-tab>- 1 small
reddish butterfly flying around while I was taking photos of a
dragonfly...likely a Northern Crescent
<x-tab>        </x-tab>- 1 moth
(Zanclognatha sp. Best guess! Hopefully someone can i.d.)
Odonates - Dot-tailed Whiteface (poor photo)
<x-tab>        </x-tab>
     - Maine Snaketail
<x-tab>        </x-tab>
     - Harlequin Darner (colourful but very small for
a darner)
<x-tab>        </x-tab>
     - Hudsonian Whiteface

Photos of the Duskywing & three Dragonflies are here:
