Observations were from 8:55 to 9:25 p.m. (Sunset 9:04). Sky mostly darkly overcast with bright spots, 15 C., cool, slight breeze. Swifts' entries into the chimney began at 8:59; then 12 more by 9:02; 3 more at 9:17; then the rush, with 45 more by 9:20; then 3+2+1+2 stragglers to 9:23; I quit at 9:25. But the last few times were guesses, because my wristwatch stopped at about 9:20, and I checked the time after 9:25 in my car. And three people from Woodville watched most of the swifts' descents.
