In my experience, 25 cm. is a good, but not enormous size for a red-bellied
snake. They are very common down our way, but are small and secretive, so
most people don't see them often.

I saw my first red-bellied snake today in Oban, Richmond Co. in a pile of
firewood. It was about 25 cm. in length, not much bigger around than a
pencil. Is this a small one, or is it average?
