Today I covered shorelines between Western Head, near Liverpool, and Port Medway, all in
Queen's County. At Western Head a Razorbill passed by, headed SW, and my first
Whimbrel of the season flew in the opposite direction. There were 12 immature male Black
Scoters among the roughly 350 molting eiders (all males, to a man). Gannets passed by
regularly during my two hour seawatch, and about 25 Common Terns that went by were all
adults.

In a small coastal pond in Brooklyn was a molting adult Solitary Sandpiper and an adult
Lesser Yellowlegs. A Least Sandpiper flew over calling frequently.

One or two near-adult Ring-billed Gulls have been frequenting the park along the Mersey
estuary in Liverpool for some weeks.
