I don't know whether many have eaten from a giant puffball but if you get
them fresh, they are delicious. A few years ago we found one in a graveyard
in Centreville the size of a football and dined off it for a week,
delicious. I wish they were here on the South Shore but I have to make do with
chanterelles and Boletes.

At 5:15 p.m. on a lovely warm & Sunny day, I heard and then saw 3 chimney
swifts flying high above the area of University Hall's southwest chimney,
where I think swift nesting is probably going on.

And near the Irving Centre on campus, I saw a very large winged ant
exploring the ground and edge of of University Avenue.

And on a lawn also near the Irving Centre and Business Dept. bldg. on
campus, there was a fresh small irregular specimen of Calvatia sp., a small
"giant puffball" (diameter about 5 cm.).
