This reminds me of what Mark Elderkin and Bernard Forsythe found out about the diverse food habits of barred owls in King's County nest-boxes back in the 1980s (foods were from earthworms and beetles up through fishes, frogs and salamanders, various birds, and various mammals, including two kinds of flying squirrels).
