** This Week's SKY AT A GLANCE

Now that summer is advanced, the glowing band of=20
the Milky Way forms a vast arch high across the=20
sky after dark, and is seen if you're in an area free of light pollution.

On Saturday, July 30 the MOON [Lune] enters its=20
New Phase meaning we will not see it during the=20
night as it rises and sets with the sun. Expect=20
higher high tides and lower low tides which could=20
be significant for shorebird observations at the moment.

On Saturday, August 6, the moon will go into its=20
First-quarter Phase when it will rise at noon and set at midnight.

On Saturday, July 30, the SUN [Soleil] rose at=20
6:05 and sets at 20:53. On Saturday, August 6=20
sunrise will be at 6:13 and sunset at 20:44.

This Week's Planet Roundup:

MERCURY [Mercure] and VENUS [V=E9nus] are hidden in the glare of the Sun.

MARS, at magnitude +1.4, glows dim and distant=20
low in the east-northeast before and during dawn.

JUPITER, at bright magnitude -2.4, rises in the=20
east around 1 am. By dawn Jupiter shines very high in the southeast.

SATURN [Saturne] (magnitude +0.9) is sinking ever=20
lower in the west-southwest at dusk.
