Thanks so much. That is exactly what I have been thinking they must be. They look and act more like toads than frogs.

      While on a photography tour of the Historic Gardens in Annapolis Royal on August 11, members of the Champlain Garden Club were delighted to find a tiny frog tucked inside one of the daylilies. Its colouring was much the same as the flower and it was about the size of a loonie. We would very much appreciate an ID.
