Yesterday evening Laura and I walked along Bald Rock Road, HRM. When we returned to our car at the intersection of Bald Rock Road and Ketch Harbour Road(Old Sambro Road) we spotted a Bobcat just as it crossed the road near a barricade of boulders. Well,.....this morning we received a call from our neighbour that a Black Bear cub had crossed the road at this exact spot. It was seen racing at high speed between two cars. She also reported that our car was parked at the intersection at 7PM so this would have happened just minutes before we had returned. Both animals were heading in the same direction. Coincidence is implausible so the only reasonable explanation is that the Bobcat was stalking the Black Bear cub. Hopefully the cub was not separated from its mother.
