I took a walk at low tide yesterday evening. There were more birds there
than I had ever seen at one time.....Now I can understand the huge
sightings that are posted from time to time. Shorebirds seen were:

Sanderling 1000+
Semi-pal. sandpiper 1000+
Semi-pal. plover about 25
B.B plover 10
Red knot 15
Dunlin 1
G. Yellowlegs 1
W.R.Sandpiper 1
Unknown shorebird sp. 3 (all brown, sanderling size)

Also many herring and B.B. gulls, a few Bonepartes gulls and several
common terns.

A lone tree swallow flew around the whole time I was there.
