Marg, I can imagine that the same thing will apply here, my flowers are all spent and we also had that heavy frost.  I don't have much hope for the poor little things when it gets this late in the season.

Maybe they will fuel up with some protein and catch a ride on good wind south. We've done what we can. A number of years ago, I had an old lady one who decided to stay here and visited the feeders until it was very cold. She got more and more ragged as time went on and you could tell she knew the end was near. I tried to keep the feeders warm for her but eventually she didn't appear and I had to accept she wasn't coming back.
