Hi all:
=20
Today Dorothy Poole=2C Pat Gladman and I did some birding in Queens County.=
At Ragged Harbour we found a northern parula=2C a red-eyed vireo=2C and a=
n orange-crowned warbler. In East Berlin=2C along Andrew's Point Road we s=
aw an American kestrel. We also discovered a juvenile red-headed woodpecke=
r. This bird was seen first near the entrance of Andrew's Head road as it =
flew into a tree beside the road. It then flew back the other way. There =
is a mailbox with Wilson on the side of it. The drive goes in a long ways =
and you can see telephone poles all along the drive. We observed the red-h=
eaded woodpecker at a distance. We then went in and it flew to a pole righ=
t beside the car. It then flew to the top of a bush in which we all got a =
perfect view of it. It afterwards flew back out towards the main road to w=
here we originally saw it. We were unable to relocate it. =20

At West Belin=2C we found an American Coot in the large pond. There is a y=
ellow checkered sign beside the road with an arrow and this is where the co=
ot was. While watching the coot we discovered another bird in the reeds cl=
ose by. Upon getting the scope out we were quite surprised to find a juven=
ile common moorhen. =20
