Today, in a flock of about 500 Canada Geese in North River, Colchester Co., there was a
delightful and very active family of Snow Geese - two adults and two juveniles.

The location is a stubble field just N of North River School, on Mountain Lee Road, just off
Hwy 311 not far N of the 104 overpass. Visual access is best from Mountain View Drive, the
second left (N) after leaving Hwy 311.

The number of "northern", i.e. dark-breasted, Canadas has increased during the past few
days. This is not surprising as November approaches and as the winds increasingly become
northerly.
