Hi all
Steve Vines and I spent a couple of hours at Waterside PP, Pictou Co. mid-morning. There was a nice long, wide bed of seaweed from the strong NW winds we have had lately and a nice assortment of 9 species of shorebird as well as Horned Larks, a couple of flocks of Snow Buntings numbering 35 total, a single Pipit and my first fall Redpolls, a flock of 6. The Killdeer was a bit of a suprise. I was expecting to see more Red-throated Loons as there is often 80-100 there this time of year, so the 15 seemd low. I don't know if I missed the large flock this year or if therre are just elsewhere. I saw a few earlier in the week at Big I. that appeared to be migrating.
Below is our E-bird summary.
cheers
ken
