Marg, this wish is much too late!! They are here and extremely
established and abundant, especially here in the Valley, and their
big pre-roosting aerial flocks and lines on wires are sensations of
note. I have seen videos before of Old World starlings, and they
are indeed spectacular. And I'm sure the immense flocks of starlings
in fall/winter in the mid- and southern states of the U.S.A., along
with flocks of red-wings and other blackbirds/grackles, are similarly
impressive.

*****But the Fundy migrant shorebirds, esp. the semip' sandpipers,
deserve similar mention, and they are symbols of how special the
Upper Bay of Fundy is as an ecosystem worthy of everyone's votes
(note the plural) for the New7Wonders of Nature, at VoteMyFundy.com .
*****

The final seven candidates will be announced on November 11, 2011,
and there are less than 7 days left for voting. I think we are
allowed one vote per day (each one is for our top 7 favourites from a
list of 28 sites including Bay of Fundy the Grand Canyon, Great
Barrier Reef, the Amazon, the Galapagos, etc.

VOTE FOR FUNDY!

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville
