All:

As I have no commercial interest, I hope that I hope it's o.k. to give
notice of the newly published 107 page book on the "Birds of Brier
Island" by Eric Mills and Lance Laviolette. Many of us have greatly
enjoyed the island's birds and many other attractions over the years.
The publisher (Nova Scotian Institute of Science) succinctly states
that:

"Birds of Brier Island provides an introduction to the physiography,
geology, physical geography, oceanography, and ecology of the island,
along with . . . an extensively annotated list of the birds plausibly
reported from the island to the middle of 2011, describing occurrence,
seasonality, and abundance of all species, and a checklist of the
birds of the island."

The book is $25 Canadian plus $5 Can for handling and postage in
Canada ($8 Can. in U.S.) and can be ordered by cheque made out to Nova
Scotian Institute of Science, mailed to:

Nova Scotian Institute of Science
c/o Killam Library, Dalhousie University,
6225 University Avenue, P. O. Box 15000,
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada B3H 4R2

Or, it can be purchased in person at:

Killam Library Research Services office,
3rd floor, Killam Library,
6225 University Ave.

Cheers, Ian
