** THIS WEEK'S SKY AT A GLANCE

Some events in the changing sky for Nov. 12-19

On Friday, Nov. 18, the MOON [Lune] will go into=20
its Last-quarter Phase meaning it will rise at midnight and set at noon.

On Saturday, November 12, the SUN [Soleil] rose=20
at 7:15 a.m. and sets at 4:51 p.m. On Saturday,=20
November 19, the sun will rise at 7:25 a.m. and set at 4:44 p.m.

This Week's Planet Roundup

MERCURY [Mercure] and VENUS [V=E9nus], magnitudes=20
-0.3 and -3.8, respectively, remain 2=B0 or 3=B0=20
apart just above the southwest horizon in bright=20
twilight. Venus is on top; Mercury, much fainter,=20
is below it. Later in the week Mercury moves=20
farther away to the lower right of Venus. Use binoculars or a birding scope.

MARS, at magnitude +1.0, rises around 1 a.m. It's=20
shining close to the star REGULUS, which is=20
nearly as bright at magnitude +1.3 and slightly=20
blue. By the beginning of dawn they're high in the southeast.

JUPITER, magnitude -2.9, blazes high in the east=20
at dusk and higher in the southeast to south later in the evening.

SATURN [Saturne], at (magnitude +0.8, is low in=20
the east-southeast as dawn begins, a little=20
higher every morning.  You can spot the sparkling=20
star SPICA (magnitude +1.0) 4=B0 to the right or=20
lower right of it. Brighter star ARCTURUS shines=20
far to the left or upper left.
