I'm sure many of you are familiar with Brian Dalzell from this list, the =
one in New Brunswick or in person. A prominent birder in New Brunswick =
but also a birder where ever he travelled and lived. It is with great =
sadness to report his unexpected death this weekend on Grand Manan =
Island. Born in 1957 and growing up in Moncton and Grand Manan, Brian =
began birding at a young age and his fascination with birds never =
ceased. He was also a great compiler of bird sightings and his database =
spanned many decades. He did live in the Halifax area when he was =
working on the first breeding bird atlas and also in Tatamagouche, he =
was back living in Moncton but he always found time to come to his =
island home.

A colleague and friend, he will be missed.

Laurie Murison
Grand Manan, NB
