I know a couple people who work in the Milford/Dutch Settlement mine. =
The fines you see dumped over the bank facing the main road now and =
behind for many years are not used. They cannot be shipped as it packs =
in the train cars etc. They only ship the 4 inch size rock you see on =
the train cars and can see in the Dartmouth terminal. If water or rain =
hits the fines it turns hard like rock so shipping is hard for fines.

If they did have a gypsum board plant here all those tons of fines could =
be used, I presume anyway.

They did ship some to PEI for farms, my understanding is it works =
similar to lime in sweetening the land.
