Hi folks,
Based on some very good description by the bird-enthusiast residents, there
is very likely a RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER visiting feeders at 4 Melbourne
Avenue, Kentville.
This is the dead-end street located just West of the Research Station
entrance, and it is the first house on the left of the ave.

This bird was first reported to me about a week ago, and according to the
resident the bird was also observed today multiple times. She mentioned
that it appears at the suet feeders in front of the house and most often in
the morning and late afternoon.

She welcomes birders parking in front of the house to "stake it out".
I will try to confirm the observation and whether male or female.

While there, I also heard a NORTHERN CARDINAL on the street, and she
mentioned a male and female have been visiting her feeders this winter.
(possibly this is the male I reported from the Research Station this past
summer, which held a territory within 300 m of this residence.)

Cheers,
James.
