Initiated in 1966, the BBS =20= is North America=92s longest running bird monitoring program, and =20 involves volunteers and professionals from across North America. =20 Becky=92s talk will include stories and pictures from Maritime =20 volunteers, a dedicated and hardy bunch whose work has contributed =20 greatly to our knowledge of bird population change over the last half =20= century. Becky will also discuss both regional and national results of =20= the survey and how these results have informed a variety of =20 conservation initiatives. Plans for future analyses and potential =20 expansion in the Maritimes will also be outlined. The BBS is a =20 cooperative effort between the U.S. Geological Survey's Patuxent =20 Wildlife Research Center and Environment Canada's Canadian Wildlife =20 Service. All are welcome.
