Along 221W and Ruggles Rd leading to East Margaretville 4 Red-tailed Hawks =
in flight or perched. Another Red-tailed Hawk Perched in a tree on the road=
to Victoria Vale. Phinney's Pond is covered in thin ice.
=20
An airborne=2C Mature Bald Eagle=2C over the fields to the east just prior=
to our entering Port George.
We were on the shore road approximately 2 hours after high tide. Overcast=
=2C light wind=2C fair visibility.
7 male=2C Harlequin Ducks were close to the shore=3B=20
Small numbers of Long-tailed Ducks=2C Common Eider=2C Red-brested Merganser=
=2C Surf Soter and White-winged Scoter and 2 Common Loons were sighted off =
shore=2C we did not make an effort to accurately record numbers given their=
distance from shore and the uncomfortable temperatures.
We returned from Port George via Margaretsville.
In Magaretsville=2C we concentrated on the shore along the front of the cot=
tages and Lighthouse=2C hoping to see Purple Sandpipers=3B we did not. Howe=
ver=2C a single Dovekie made our Day by doing a flypast just beyond the exp=
osed shoreline! Just a little fella=2C however=2C the light was good.=20
Beyond the Eastern Wharf there were 9 humans throwing rocks at the frozen w=
aterfalls and 5 dogs having a very good time!
Cheers=2C Barbara and Pat =
