Hi Dave. You are right, but it is easier to get people involved in a =
small project that has a definite time frame. Some (or most?) wouldn't =
want to become involved in long-term solutions relating to changes to =
systemic problems. I include myself in this as I limit my involvement =
to making donations to those willing to actually do the work. It would =
be better of course if I did both - donate and participate.

Stressed Out

Hi Don & All, Jan 12, 2012
I don't want to be a wet blanket but time, energy, talent and =
enthusiasm that is expended to save individual animals would have =
greater impact, I think, if directed to systemic problems that impact =
all nature; deplorable urban runoff management, excessive motor vehicle =
traffic spawning a destructive highway system...

Give the natural world a decent environment & it will do just fine =
without intervention.

Darrell, it is going to die in this climate if not helped. I am =
personally pleased that Hope has taken an interest in it. With all of =
her experience, the bird is in good hands.

Thank goodness some people have an interest in saving birds when they =
can. Otherwise all of the oiled seabirds would be left to die. The =
stress the birds experience is worth the number of birds that make it =
through.

Why don't you just leave the poor thing alone, if it dies tonight you =
know what I would blame it on.
