If anyone has come across examples of bats flying this winter or encountered any dead bats, please contact either your nearest office of the Department of Natural Resources or Dr Hugh Broders or me. Winter flight, even in the case of mid-winter thaws is unusual, and may be symptomatic of other problems be they disease or disturbance of hibernating colonies.

Any reports would be appreciated.

Andrew
