Hi All=0ALately a bunch of birds have been feeding on the seed on my rhodod=
endron and=A0=0Aazalea bushes. Seems Juncos are the most common but Tree Sp=
arrows are=0Aquite happy to eat the seed also. Chickadees also but they see=
m just to join the crowd for company.=0ASong sparrows not so much but from =
time to time. and some other birds I don't recognize.=0AThe seeds are very =
small but although the plants are not native, lots of azaleas are so probab=
ly=0Athe behavior has been learned in nature.=0AOnly non hybrid plants prod=
uce seed but most plants in commerce are non hybrids - in=0Aspite of what t=
he advertisments say - LOL=0AThe Royal azalea from Korea is perhaps the bes=
t with Yakus from Japan close behind.=A0=0AIn addition the yakus grow very =
dense and close to the ground so provide good protection=0Afor the birds. T=
he Finish rhodos have much the same growth form, are very hardy, but the on=
es=0AI got don't seem to produce much seed along with a couple of other sho=
rtcomings.=0AHave a nice winter=0APaul=0A
