Just returned from Red Bridge Pond & the area by Banook Canoe Club to check on 'Vogle', the Gallinule & the American Coots. 'All present and accounted for'. Left food for all and they were all out foraging well. Cold, cold morning but sunny & not much wind. There is still quite abit of open water at Red Bridge Pond with lots of spots in the reeds for the Gallinule to hide. Interestingly, both it and the Am. Coot looked as if they had ice crystals on their back. Is it because of the type of feathers they have?. I did not notice that on the ducks.
Speaking of Coots, how are the one's out at Bisset Lake doing?

Sincerely,

Gayle MacLean
