There were thousands and thousands (uncounted) of wall-to-wall gulls (mostly herring gulls, I'm sure, but lots of great black-backs as well -- sorry I didn't take time to look at them, but they were mostly well away from Highway 358 or were back-lighted along Saxon St.), in open fields in two spots that normally have sizable flocks of resting gulls: south of Saxon St. along Hwy. 358 (west side); and along Saxon St. west of Fred Thomas Rd. (south side).
