(1) That frustrating junco put in a brief appearance yesterday morning.
No picture yet, and I'd like to know how much gas Ronnie has burned, trying
to photograph it!

(2) Over the past week, while driving down the Wyman Road, I have had
glimpses of a suspicious-looking large sparrow-sized bird on the wire. On
Friday, I had a more clear view, when it was perched on the wire near the
house: orangey-chestnut breast and white belly. After I got home, I parked
and got out my binoculars: Yup, the head was blue, the bill looked right,
and then the bird took off.

Looks as if our winter bluebirds are back. They are starting to become
commonplace in the Chebogue-Sandbeach area. Anyone interested should drive
down the Wyman Road around mid-day or early afternoon, between the Hogg and
Ellis Roads, and watch the wires for suspicious-looking birdies.
