Today I heard the unmistakable call of geese so I went to have a look.
In the distance - silhouetted, so I couldn't ID them - I saw a flock of
15 - 20 geese flying along the coast of the Northumberland Strait.

Also in the past few days I have been seeing a small flock of birds
flitting around. They remind me of crossbills, the call and flight
pattern. I will try to get my binoculars on them soon for a confirmation.

We didn't have much sea ice along the coast this year but River Philip
froze over much the same as other years. We have ice off shore, I think
its drifting down from the Gulf.
