Hi:
At Port George, 1545 27FEB12:
At Cottage Cove Wharf:
2M, 1F, Harlequin
From the Cottage Cove Picnic Park to Eastern entry onto the shoreline:
4M, 2F Red-breasted Mergansers, 40 Herring Gulls, 2 Common Loons, 4M, 2F =
Common Eiders, 4 Longtail Ducks.

Earlier, enroute from Hwy 221 to Berwick over the 101:=20
2 mature, male Ring-necked Pheasant one on the centre line, injured, =
prone, bleeding, the other male seemed to be trying to pick up his =
injured relative, we stopped and the uninjured RNP went to an area just =
beyond the drainage ditch, I picked up his injured buddy by the legs, he =
tried to escape my hold, I laid him gently in the bottom of the deep, =
grassy drainage ditch, and left. About 30 minutes later we returned and =
the injured pheasant had made a little way up the side of the ditch, he =
was breathing: we are not optimistic wrt survival.

Along the 221 between Berwick and Kingston:
~1500 E. Starlings at cattle farms. ~70 A. Robins with a number of E. =
Starlings beneath and in apple trees in 2 oor more orchards
3 DE Juncos on Delusion Rd.
1 Red-tailed Hawk on 221W close to intersection of Melvern Square Rd & =
221W
Cheers, Barbara and Pat
