In Avonport (Horton Bluff):
Large flock of robins in the orchard near me
Song Sparrow singing
M.Dove cooing
Hairy Woodpecker drumming
D-e Juncos all a-twittering
Purple Finch singing
AND a TOTALLy NEW experience, as spring approaches here at =
Horton Bluff: SINGING CARDINALS. Northern Cardinals have been present =
all winter (the first time in the 37 years I've lived here); this last =
week they began greeting the day with a couple of their song variations =
(and they keep repeating several times and fairly loud). It is just =
since this past summer that the Cardinal has been regularly observed at =
Horton Bluff (probably about 4 pair are being regularly seen at various =
places along the Bluff Rd of Avonport.. So I would say it looks like =
the Northern Cardinal has probably just become a year-round resident in =
Avonport.
