By the way, I am not ashamed to say that I still use videotapes and a =
VCR to tape a lot of shows, and that I don't know how to used our TV/VCR =
combo to "tape" shows in modern ways!!

Your age is beginning to show too Jim :)

Subject: [NatureNS] TONIGHT, CBC-TV, 8 pm - NATURE OF THINGS

Subject: TONIGHT, CBC-TV, 8 pm - NATURE OF THINGS

Note TV listings for 8 pm TONIGHT ON CBC-TV -- Thursday is the =
normal night for The Nature of Things (2 different episodes, at 8 pm. on =
regular CBC and 11 pm on CBC-Newsworld, unless pre-empted as happened =
last week) -- The Herald listings for 8 pm say it's on "The Evolutionary =
Past of Humans". I heard a CBC-Radio interview earlier in the week with =
a scientist involved in this, and he contends that the very best =
marathon runners in the world are humans, which literally ran down large =
game animals in Africa and "fried them in their own skins" during the =
chase. Human nakedness is a huge advantage over fur-covered prey and =
competing predators in hot climates by allowing chasing, running humans =
to cool themselves, whereas their prey animals die from overheating. I =
wish I could remember more details from the interview, but it was =
compelling. He did recommend that anyone who wants to try running =
barefoot to start very carefully and slowly!!

Then at 11 pm on Newsworld Channel, the subject is not listed, but I =
hope it will be whatever was pre-empted last week. I recall that the =
episode two weeks ago announced something about lots of different =
animals for the next episode to come. We'll see.

By the way, I am not ashamed to say that I still use videotapes and =
a VCR to tape a lot of shows, and that I don't know how to used our =
TV/VCR combo to "tape" shows in modern ways!!

Cheers from low-tech Jim in Wolfville, who watches way too much junk =
TV!!
