MARCH 31, 2012 - Pat & I viewed Andy Dean's overlook of the
Cornwallis River floodplain (no longer flooded) in west Kentville:
for waterfowl, all we saw there were 2 Canada geese and 2 pairs of
mallards.
We walked the rail trail west from the Evergreen Home ("Palmeter's")
parking lot in west Kentville. Going west, just a few steps along on
the left (south side) was a shallow run-off pond with a nice chorus
of WOOD FROGS "quacking/clacking" at about 2 p.m.
Two days ago, Andy Dean saw and photographed a basking painted turtle
in Miner's Marsh in Kentville, adjacent to the Cornwallis River.
