I took an evening CV walk on the coastal barrens and down to Duncan =
Reef. The sea was high but at least seven, probably many more, Purple =
Sandpipers were sleeping in the late day sun on the reef's innermost =
shoal while the sea broke about them.

Back home in Portuguese Cove the Red-bellied Woodpecker and Northern =
Mockingbird continue to be regulars. Unfortunately, the red squirrel has =
developed a taste for red grapes.
