Thanks to an alert by David Currie on the Rare Bird Sighting list, I was able to see my very 1st Green Heron about an hour or so ago down at Sullivan's Pond here in Dartmouth. Apparently it has been here since this past Monday. Seems to be getting plenty of fish as David said it had been over closer to the bandstand area catching fish there in the shallows. When I saw it, it was standing on a rock at the edge of the water on the island directly across from the bandstand. Beautiful bird with very iridescent dark green feathers on it's back, that shone in the sunlight.

Sincerely,

Gayle MacLean
Dartmouth
