Hi all May 31 was the 3rd of 4 May-June nights to monitor swifts at =
roosts in the Maritimes. At Temperance St. school in New Glasgow,. I =
arrived about 8:30, temp 13C, 30-40% cloud cover and slight breeze. Only =
a handful of swifts were present, but by 8:50 the group had grown . A =
few appeared to go in 8:52 , but the main bulk of 340+ went in at 9:05. =
Total count for the night was 405 with the last birds going in at 9:13. =
This was my largest tally of this spring so far. Next monitor night is =
June 4. This is the period now when peak numbers occur at the roost for =
the year if trends are the same as previous year's results.=20
cheers
ken
