If still fresh, it would be worth taking home for the meat, unless illegal.
I found a freshly road-killed beaver on a bridge over the Rio Grande in New
Mexico a couple decades ago, a quite large one, maybe 40lb, and still
remember it as the finest meat I've ever eaten. Including the mangled
stuff, which I'd put aside for the dogs - until the mangled stuff was all
that was left.
