Hi Jim, and all,

I am not planning anything in particular, but will try to have the lamps on here at night all that week. I should probably mention that moths have been a bit slow here at my place which is along Round Hill Brook just a stone's throw from the Annapolis River. Evenings have been quite cool here until this week- I think the proximity to the Bay of Fundy and a tidal river has a lot to do with that. Anyhow, so far there have not been too many moths compared to past summer, although there were Polyphemus and Luna moths this week, and as many as 4 species of Sphinx in an evening.

I would encourage everyone to consider registering for National Moth Week. It's not too late. Canadian study sites are most welcome (private or public sites). There are very few registered for the event so far. In fact, a couple of days ago, I received an email from David (one of the organizers) asking me to pass on the info to Canadian news groups - which I had already done, but spread the word if you know other Canadians who might wish to participate. I am supposed to write a blog post for the NMW site - about this location, my set-up and the moths that I see here. Once it is up, I'll post the link here on NatureNS.

Regards,
Bev Wigney
