I allow knapweed to grow freely in one part of my yard. Mine has been blooming for a couple of weeks now.

We were enjoying Keji the last few days - thunder storms and all!
One evening I was sitting by the lake - the water is at summer low level
with an area of grass and other plants extending out 100 m in places
from the high water shore.
As I watched a Rail ( Sora ) came flapping by - 5 m in front of me.
Legs dangling - just over the top of the grass barely able to keep air borne.
It went on perhaps 20 m and dropped in to the grass.
Probably more common than we see but an interesting bird.
The knapweed there is not yet in full flower - 25 % as a guess but there was
butterflies around it. Lots of other nice flowers.
Enjoy the summer
Paul
